Terms of service

Last updated October 27, 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and Andrius Naruševičius, who runs ClearanceBrief from Naugarduko g. 50B-23, LT-03228 Vilnius, Lithuania ("we", "us"). Questions: andrew@clearancebrief.com. By subscribing or using the site you accept them.

1. What ClearanceBrief is

A service that shows U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance decisions and medical device recalls by product code, links recalls to the 510(k) numbers listed on them, and emails subscribers when new items appear for the codes they watch. It uses public FDA data. ClearanceBrief is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FDA, and it is not regulatory, legal or medical advice.

2. The plan and payment

There are two plans: Starter, $29 a month for up to 5 product codes, and Pro, $49 a month for up to 25 product codes plus API access (up to 60 requests a minute and 10,000 a day per key). Prices are in US dollars, charged in advance on the same date each month until you cancel. Payments are handled by Stripe, which issues receipts. CSV exports are limited to 1,000 rows per file on Starter and 10,000 on Pro. We may change the price for the future by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email; you can cancel before it takes effect.

3. Cancelling and the 14-day refund

Cancel any time in one click from your account. If you cancel within 14 days of your first payment, the subscription ends straight away and we refund that payment in full, automatically, to the original payment method. This is in addition to any refund rights you have under consumer law. After 14 days, cancelling stops future payments; you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for, and part-months are not refunded. We may end or suspend an account that breaks these terms; if we end it without that reason, we refund the unused part of the month.

4. How you may use the service

You may use the alerts, briefs and exports inside your own business, including sharing them with your colleagues and clients as part of your own work. You may not resell or republish bulk extracts as a data product, scrape the site, share your login or API key, or get around the export and API limits.

5. Emails

Alert emails go only to subscribers. You can pause them or stop them with the link in every email, without cancelling.

6. Accuracy (public data)

We copy FDA data nightly as published, usually within a day of release. FDA records can be late, corrected or incomplete, and links between recalls and 510(k)s are only those the FDA lists. We don't guarantee that any record is complete, current or correct, and alerts can be delayed or missed. Check the official FDA record before relying on it. The service is provided "as is" and may occasionally be unavailable.

7. Liability

Our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law does not allow to be limited, and nothing affects your rights as a consumer if you are one.

8. Your data

We handle your account details as described in the privacy policy.

Operator and data controller: Andrius Naruševičius, operator of ClearanceBrief, Naugarduko g. 50B-23, LT-03228 Vilnius, Lithuania. Contact: andrew@clearancebrief.com

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will email subscribers at least 30 days before they apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel before then.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Lithuania, and the courts of Lithuania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the state or country where you live and may bring proceedings there.
